Blackhawks C has back surgery
CHICAGO (AP) Chicago Blackhawks center Dave Bolland had surgery to repair a herniated disk in his back Tuesday and will be out for three to four months.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Richard Fessler at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Team doctors said the surgery went well and a full recover was expected.
The 23-year-old Bollard has six points in 13 games this season. He's appeared in 134 regular-season games over parts of the last four seasons, with 25 goals and 45 assists.
Bolland had a career-high 19 goals and 47 points last season.
